We are a united association of truck owners who believe collective action can strengthen the industry and create a safer future for transport.

The Truck Owners Association of Nigeria (TOAN) stands as the foremost organized body representing the interests and collective voice of road truck and haulage transport owners across Nigeria. Established on 20th July 2005 and duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, the Association serves as a central authority committed to advancing professionalism, discipline, and operational excellence within Nigeria’s trucking and haulage industry.

As a strategic platform for truck owners, fleet operators, and logistics stakeholders, TOAN coordinates trucking activities, promotes industry best practices, and strengthens safety compliance in road freight transportation. The Association is dedicated to building the capacity of its members through education, operational guidance, and policy engagement that supports sustainable growth in the transport sector.

Alhaji Idris Jooda is a distinguished transport entrepreneur, logistics professional, and influential stakeholder in Nigeria’s road freight and haulage industry. Renowned for his commanding presence, technical expertise, and disciplined leadership style, he has built a strong reputation as a formidable force in transport and logistics management. His career reflects a blend of practical industry knowledge, strategic leadership, and commitment to operational excellence. With a background combining formal education and extensive field experience, Jooda developed deep competence in transport operations, fleet management, and logistics coordination. He served as Transport Manager at Zealeth Incorporated Nigeria Plc. from 2000 to 2005, where he oversaw operations, improved logistics systems, and enhanced fleet efficiency. Currently, he is the CEO/MD of Cristal Crust Nigeria Limited, a company recognized for structured logistics management and professionalism. An Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Supply Chain Management, he has strengthened both his personal credibility and his company’s standing within the professional logistics community.

Francis Akinjide (Secretary)

Francis Akinjide is a respected industry strategist, seasoned corporate executive, and influential stakeholder in Nigeria’s transport and logistics sector. Known for his commanding leadership presence, administrative discipline, and sharp strategic insight, he remains a dependable voice in shaping the structure and growth of the road freight and haulage industry. He earned a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Economics from the University of Ilorin (1989–1992) and later obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Federal University of Technology, Akure (2002–2004), strengthening his expertise in management and strategy. Akinjide began his career with Associated Granite Industries Limited in 1994 as a Marketing Officer, rising steadily through merit to Senior Marketing Officer, Assistant Marketing Manager, Marketing Manager, and eventually General Manager (2014–2016). In these roles, he demonstrated strong leadership, expanded market reach, and improved operational performance. He currently serves as CEO/MD of Listed Investment Limited, Abeokuta, where he drives strategic growth, operational efficiency, and corporate expansion, reinforcing his reputation as a disciplined and visionary business leader.

Alh. Azeez Saliu (Treasurer)

Alhaji Azeez Saliu Alhaji Azeez Saliu is a product of grit, discipline, and hard-earned authority, shaped by years of experience within Nigeria’s demanding haulage industry. Beginning as a welding technician, he cultivated precision, resilience, and a strong sense of structure qualities that later define his leadership approach. His transition into trucking was grounded in reality, starting as a motor-boy where he learned the harsh, unspoken dynamics of long-distance transport, before advancing to a driver handling heavy-duty vehicles across challenging routes. These formative experiences sharpened his instincts and built a deep understanding of both operational complexities and human factors in the industry. Today, as the CEO of Salazeesco Nigeria Ltd and an influential member of the Truck Owners Association of Nigeria, he is known for a leadership style that is direct, calculated, and uncompromising. His commanding presence, strategic insight, and strict discipline continue to earn him respect and reinforce his formidable reputation.
